This week, Aachen hosts the second Major of the year in the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping.
After winning the first Major of the year at The Dutch Masters, Germany’s Richard Vogel – the current world number three and the reigning European Champion – arrives to the mythical Soers showgrounds as the Rolex Grand Slam live contender.
With the complete Top 10 from the latest world rankings set to compete in Aachen, Vogel will be joined by the current world number one Kent Farrington (USA), Scott Brash (GBR), Ben Maher (GBR), Gilles Thomas (BEL), Nina Mallevaey (FRA), Shane Sweetnam (IRL), Christian Kukuk (GER), Steve Guerdat (SUI) and McLain Ward (USA).
Harrie Smolders (NED), Laura Kraut (USA), Henrik von Eckermann (SWE), Lillie Keenan (USA), Daniel Deusser (GER), Giulia Martinengo Marquet (ITA), Christian Ahlmann (GER), Marcus Ehning (GER), Luciana Diniz (BRA) and Julien Epaillard (FRA) are other prominent names included in the entry list, while Martin Fuchs (SUI) returns as the title defender from 2025.
The Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping unites four Majors – The Dutch Masters, CHIO Aachen, Spruce Meadows and CHI Geneva. Winning three Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping Grand Prixs in succession will be rewarded with one million Euros on top of the prize money, while a fourth Major in a row leads to a further one million Euro bonus. Two Grand Prix wins in succession result in a bonus of €500,000. To date, Rolex Testimonee Scott Brash is the only rider to have won three consecutive Rolex Majors; at the CHI Geneva in 2014, at the CHIO Aachen in 2015 and at the Spruce Meadows 'Masters' in 2015.
