After a victorious first day in Aachen, Julien Epaillard (FRA) and Easy Up de Grandry (Jarnac x For Pleasure) continued their winning form on Saturday when topping the CSI5* 1.50m Prize of Aachen Campus.
Cruising around the Soers showground, the current world number 12 stopped the clock on 69.71 to take the win with a 5.24 second margin to second placed Daniel Bluman (ISR) and Malina (Aganix du Seigneur x Mylord Carthago).
“My horse has a big stride, so I did one less from two to three as well as in a couple other places in the course,” Epaillard explained. “He is a naturally fast horse, and I think he really likes the ring here in Aachen, he feels at home here. It was a nice weeked for him, he jumped twice and won twice and he is now done for this show.”
Sophie Hinners (GER) and Iron Dames Kaleni Jo (Kannan x Indoctro) completed the top three with a time of 75.43 seconds, followed by Hans-Dieter Dreher (GER) and Harley de la Cense (Andiamo Semilly x Calvaro F.C.) in fourth in 75.75 and Gilles Thomas (BEL) aboard Riesling van’T Roosakker (Comme Il Faut x Echo van’T Spieveld) in fifth in 75.98.
