The French team for the FEI Jumping World Championships 2026, taking place from 16-23 August in Aachen, Germany, has been announced.

The French team will consist of the following horse-and-rider combinations:

• Julien Epaillard and Fringan de Vesquerie (Mylord Carthago x Diamant de Semilly)
• Antoine Ermann and Floyd de Prés (Vigo Cece x Papillon Rouge)
• Nina Mallevaey and Dynastie de Beaufour (Diamant de Semilly x Cassini II)
• Olivier Perreau and GL Events Dorai d’Aiguilly (Kannan x Toulon)

Kevin Staut and Exquis RB (Siwing de Triaval x Quamikase des Forets) are the travelling reserves.

“Nina, Antoine, Julien, and Kevin have already experienced a major championship together, last year at the European Championships in La Coruña,” the French chef d’equipe Edouard Coupérie said in a press release from the French Equestrian Federation. “Our riders are well-placed in the FEI world rankings; Nina is seventh, which is telling, Julien is eighth, while Antoine is second in the U25 category. Olivier is very consistent, and we all remember his performance at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where he made a lasting impression with his mare.”

“For me, it's very important to build a team of five riders because the fifth pair is there to step in if one of the four main riders has a problem. I chose Kevin Staut with Exquis RB, a horse that has been improving at every competition since the beginning of the year," Coupérie pointed out. 

"We have high hopes for these World Championships, but everything has to fall into place," he continued. "Our primary goal is to secure direct qualification for the next Olympics by finishing in the top seven. Thirty-two nations will be competing; it's unprecedented to have so many teams, and the competition will be fierce. We have a great, motivated team, which gives us high hopes, and we will give our all to achieve the best possible result. We expect some great competition and will focus on managing the championship schedule as best we can. I reiterate my thanks to the horse owners, whose investment is essential for the French team to perform well.”
