German domination at the CSIO Nations Cup in Wierden

The CSIO 1.45 Young Rider Grand Prix in Wierden went to Austria’s Victoire Martin on Viper van Huize Ruisdael (Feliciano x Dark D’Amour). With only one of two double clear rounds in this class, Martin was 0.42 seconds faster than Italy’s Filippo Garzilli on Adelscot (Stakkato x Contender). Third – with the fastest time in the jump-off, but on the expense of a rail – was Belgium’s Pieter Kenis on Grey van de Castanoschans (Clinton x Lys de Darmen).

In the CSIO 1.40 Junior Grand Prix, Lichtenstein’s Vanessa-Joy Nägele went to the top riding Energie Des Trois Bouleaux (Toulon x Orlando). There were five double clear rounds in the class, but Nägele was the fastest with a time of 36.07 in the jump-off. Close behind in 35.55 seconds followed the Netherland’s Kelly Jochems on Zelena (Baloubet du Rouet x Ahorn), while Great Britain’s Harry Charles was third on Vivaldi du Dom (Casall x Veneur du Prelet).

Germany dominated the Nations Cup, with wins in all four divisions – for ponies, children, junior and young riders.

The winning CSIO Junior Nations Cup team consisted of Philip Houston on Kanell (Kannan x Quick Star), Teike Carstensen on Cara Mia 85 (Colman x Barnaul), Theresa Ripke on Calmado (Casall x Landadel) and Leonie Krieg on Champerlo (Counter x Lasino). The Germans had a total of eight faults, and were followed by the Dutch team in second with a total of twelve faults which was also the result for Great Britain.

On the victorious CSIO Young Rider Nations Cup team was Kaya Lüthi on Wilane (Baloubet du Rouet x Widolan), Guido Klatte on Qinghai (Quidam de Revel x Cordalme), Tobias Bremermann on Quintino B (Qubec x Concerto II) and Laura Klaphake on Cinsey (Contendro I x For Pleasure). A total of ten faults was the result for the German team, and two penalties behind in second was France. Third place went to Italy with a total score of fifteen penalties.
