CSI4* Bolesworth International 2015

andrea blog

Hello again everyone.

All I can say is, WOW!!! What a show we had! After a pretty good start on the first day, we had Casper and Lia jumping again on Friday. Casper was double clear and placed 4th :) And then comes princess Lia going in the ring - after a proper warm up this time ;) - and wins the class :) what a star she is! And how nice it must have been for Marlon since it was his birthday!

He had asked me to just lunge Vera and Clarimo that day. Most of the time I only lunge our horses in a head collar and let them do a little bit what they want. It's a good way for them to get some extra energy out and to clear the head a bit. Especially Clarimo likes it a lot.

Saturday was going to be a busy day. All four horses jumped again starting with Clarimo at 8 in the morning. We were number 12 to go according to the list. But when we got to the ring it was clear we'd be going earlier since almost no one was there. Must have been a good party the night before ;)

Anyways... Little lunatic won his class again! Then it was Vera's turn. She jumped the 4* 145 and jumped an amazing clear round. A bit unlucky in the jump off though with one down... But still placed 7th after all :)

Quick lunch after Vera and soon it was time for Casper in the 2* Grand Prix. Two rounds and jump off and Casper was just unbelievable, jumped one clear round after another and he - OMG - won the Grand Prix!!! I didn't even know it until Marlon came out of the prize giving though because after he jumped the jump off I had to go back to the stable to get Lia ready for her class and start lunging her. They came out while I was lunging and I saw him coming out as the last one with the winners blanket on... I was so happy I couldn't believe it!!

Lia jumped the "Mini Majors", a pair relay where the riders pair up with kids on their ponies. According to Enda that was the most important class of the show ;) Marlon jumped together with Ella Quigley, a very sweet girl on a fast pony. Lia didn't really know what was happening... Going in the ring together with a pony and the crowd cheering and whistling but she knows her job and was fast and clear. They finished 2nd and Ella seemed to be the happiest girl in the world :)

After that was the Gladiators knock out class in which Pieter jumped and Angelica had to fight a gladiator. Unfortunately Pieter's horse wasn't all that convinced and Angelica got a pretty hard hit on her arm which we thought to be quite serious but luckily wasn't  too bad in the end.

The day ended with a concert and a, as far as I heard, pretty good party ;)

Sunday started with some bad news as word spread that some saddles and tack from Scott Brash, Therese Henriksen and some other people were stolen. It is quite shocking when things like that happen.

We had quite a busy morning. With Lia's and Clarimo's classes almost at the same time in different rings... It was a bit hectic running back and forward between the rings and the stables but the spirits were high since both jumped double clear and both were placed 2nd in their classes :)

Pieter was also double clear in the 7year old final and was placed 3rd! After the morning classes there was some time for organizing and packing. The 2 trucks from Pieter and Angelica left late afternoon to get on route home already. We had one more class with Vera starting after the Grand Prix. The 140 accumulator. Vera jumped and amazing clear round and finished 5th :) good finish to a great show!!

Now it's time to get those horses home!

Best wishes Andrea
