The Longines Falsterbo Grand Prix was dominated by Swedish riders, but as last to go in the second round Janika Sprunger and Bonne Chance Cw (Baloubet du Rouet x Cambridge), representing Switzerland, delivered an amazing round to take home a well deserved win.

The class was a winning round whit all the clear riders, but a minimum of eleven riders,  went through to a second round. As the first round counted exactly eleven clears the three riders with one time fault - Marcus Ehning and Plot Blue (Mr. Bleu x Pilot), Sebastian Numminen with Cue Channa 42 (Cardento x Robin Z) and Sergio Alvarez Moya with G with C Quitador Rochelais (Jarnac x Unau du Fontery) were left out of the second round and had to settle as number 12, 13 and 14 respectively.

Sweden's Charlotte Mordasini and Romane du Theil (For Pleasure x Quidam de Revel) were first to go in the second round producing a great jump-off in 44,29 seconds - putting pressure on the ones to come and a huge smile on Charlotte's face. Next to go was also from Sweden, Douglas Lindelöw and his 14 year old gelding Udermus (Odermus R x Jackson). Douglas has been on good form this year and has many top results to look back on, but in front of his home crowd the a-element of the combination fell pushing him down the result list finally ending 10th.

Another on form rider, Mario Stevens  and his nice ride Baloubet 4 (Balou du Rouet x Grandeur), also had to see a pole fall today, but his time was faster than Douglas' placing the German rider as number nine.

Then there was time for Sweden again, this time with Henrik von Eckermann and Cantinero (Cento x Cash). With a fantastic round Henrik was just fractions faster than Charlotte, but 0,05 seconds was good enough to take over the lead.

As always Fibonacci 17 (For Feeling x Corland) and Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum flew the fences more than jumping them. They were clear, but their time was not good enough to threaten the Swedish riders in the lead. Laura Kraut and Cedric (Chambertin x Carolus I) landed on the back pole of the second fence kicking them out of the fight to win as well.

Willem Greve's Carambole N.O.P. (Cassini I x Concerto II) jumped great and was clear, but not fast enough. Dermott Lennon and Loughview Lou-Lou (Limmerick x Jack of Diamonds) had the fastest round of the day, but on the expense of a pole.

Malin Baryard-Johnsson and her lovely partner H&M Tornesch 1042 (Lux x Libero H) set the speed and tightened the turns, but lost some time towards the end and slotted in behind Henrik and Charlotte. Also Patrick Stühlmeyer went clear with Lacan 2 (Lando x Contender), but had the slowest clear round to end as number seven.

When Janika Sprunger and Bonne Chance Cw entered the arena it was three home riders on top and the atmosphere was more electric than ever in Falsterbo. Janika is a brilliant rider with no fears, and she paid no respect to anyones hopes of having three Swedish riders on the podium. She delivered a breathtaking round and as the clock stopped she was more than a second faster than Henrik, leaving the arena to standing ovations from a very humble Swedish crowd.
