Plot Blue was retired from the sport last night in Geneva, following a phenomenal career. The emotional cermony took place in the very same ring where Plot Blue won the World Cup Final with Ehning back in 2010.

On his official Facebook account, Ehning wrote: "With one smiling and one weeping eye we gave Plot Blue his well-deserved retirement. Thank you to his owner Kathrin Somogyi for the years of trust, and for giving him this well-deserved retirement as a breeding stallion in his familiar home in Borken."

Ehning has many highlights to look back at with the now 18-year-old stallion by Mr Blue x Pilot. The couple won team gold at the 2010 World Championships in Kentucky, as well as team bronze at the 2009 European Championships at Windsor.

The two also have big victories together from Lyon, Aachen, Paris, Gothenburg, Mannheim, St. Gallen, Cannes and Magna Racino as well as taking Nations Cup wins for Germany at Hickstead (2011 and 2013) and in Falsterbo (2013). Plot Blue also jumped at the 2012 Olympic Games with Ehning in the saddle.

Before he came to Ehning, Plot Blue competed at the 2006 World Championships and 2007 European Championships with Switzerland’s Werner Muff.
