The Swedish Equestrian Federation has chosen 37-year-old Henrik Ankarcrona as their new Chef d’Equipe. Ankarcrona replaces Sylve Söderstrand, previous Chef d’Equipe and – up until Rio – Olympic head coach for the Swedish showjumpers.
Ankarcrona has competed at international five-star level, and has worked for Hans Horn in the Netherlands as well as Paul Schockemöhle in Germany. Currently, he runs his own training facility where he also educates and competes horses himself.
“I have a lot of respect and feel very humble towards this assignment, but at the same time I look forward to getting to work with the riders on the national team,” comments Ankarcrona.
Ankarcrona starts up on the 1st of November.
