Once again it was Great Britain’s Robert Whitaker and Catwalk IV (Colman x Corleone) that topped one of the Grand Prix competitions at the Sunshine Tour.

Last year, the couple won the concluding CSI4* Invitational Grand Prix and today they warmed up with yet another Grand Prix victory in this 1.55m competition presented by Rives.

It was a very competitive and fast seven-horse jump-off, where Whitaker proved to be untouchable. With a time of 45.22 seconds the pair flew into the lead after a spectacular round. Afterwards Robert concluded that this was a very important win after two weeks of building up at the Tour, adding: “Catwalk IV is my best horse and I always ride the Grand Prix classes with him. I have five horses here, but three of them are just 8- year-olds and are not ready to tackle such big tracks just yet. However, they are all going very well and will be ready for bigger classes in the very near future, maybe even at the end of the Tour.”

Riding to second place in this Rives Grand Prix, was Tim Wilks riding Quelbora Merze (Tarzan de Beaulieu x If de Merze) – also representing Great Britain. The pair stopped the clock in 45.62 second with a very neat, fast round. Third was Spanish rider Iván Serrano on Chaccman (Chacco-Blue x Kannan), while Ireland’s Richard Howley with Chinook (Tygo x Wellington) slotted into fourth place and Italy’s Luca Moneta with Herold (Heartbreaker x Haydn) finished fifth.
