Gudrun Patteet and Seacoast Atlantic winning in St. Moritz

The CSI5* event in St. Moritz started on Thursday and the main class of the day, which also counted for the Longines Ranking, was a 1.50m against the clock presented by Sportstall Tina Pol. Out of the strong field of 42 horse-and-rider combinations, 13 produced clear rounds. Gudrun Patteet (BEL) on the 11-year-old gelding Sea Coast Atlantic (Schilling x Aramis de la Cence) was the fastest of them all, with a time of 71,00 seconds.

Pius Schwizer (SUI) on the 11-year-old gelding Leonard de la Ferme CH (Landjuweel x Indigene de Corday) placed second with a time of 71,45, and Michael Whitaker (GBR) on the 11-year-old stallion Gentlemen v. Veldhof (Quite Easy I x Calido I) took the third place with a time of 72,86 seconds. Romain Duguet (SUI) on the 11-year-old mare Sherazade du Gevaudan (Tinka's Boy x Iago C) placed fourth with a time of 74.04 seconds and the fifth spot went to Robert Smith (GBR) on the 9-year-old stallion Ilton (Dulf van den Bisschop x Calvaro) with a time of 75,02 seconds.

Earlier in the day the CSI5* 1.45m in two phases presented by Gemeinde Pontresina turned into a real race: Martin Fuch (SUI) on the 10-year-old gelding Cristo (Cristo x Stakkato) took the win on home soil with a time of 28,54 seconds in the phase two. Edwin Smits (SUI) on the 10-year-old mare Barcelona von Aarhof CH (Eurocommerce Berlin x Calando II) placed second with only a fraction behind the winner, with a time of 28,58 .

The third place went to Paris Sellon (USA) on the 14-year-old mare Canasta Z, after the pair clocked the time of 29,55 seconds. Laura Kraut (USA) on the 10-year-old stallion Viper Vrombautshoeve Z (Verdi) placed fourth with a time of 30,05 seconds and Alain Jufer (SUI) on the 9-year-old mare Cytise de la Fontaine (Calvaro x Baryard d'Elle) placed fifth with a time of 30,25 seconds.
