Haras des Coudrettes has announced that Patrice Delaveau’s Carinjo HDC (Cascavelle x Landgraf) will be retired from the sport, at the age of 16.

On their Facebook-page, Haras des Coudrettes writes: “After his victory this year at the CSI5* of Antwerp, Carinjo was slightly injured and was quietly resting. Out of respect for our 16-year-old stallion, we all decided that the time had come to pay tribute to him and allow him to enjoy a second sweet and happy life.”

The Holsteiner stallion has had a hugely successful career, with five-star victories from Stuttgart, Chantilly, Gijon, Barcelona, Doha, St. Tropez, Los Angeles, La Baule, Brussels, Oslo and Paris during his time with Delaveau. Before Carinjo joined Haras des Coudrettes, German rider Thomas Voss performed great with him and the pair was second in the prestigious Grand Prix of Aachen back in 2012.

Carinjo will now focus on his breeding career, at Haras des Coudrettes. Already a proven sire, he has offspring jumping at the highest level of the sport such as Peder Fredricson’s H&M Carat Desire.
