In the last week leading up to the Longines FEI World Cup Final, WoSJ catch up with some of the world’s best riders as they head for Gothenburg. Kevin Staut (FRA), who will compete at his 10th World Cup Final this year, fills us in.

Which horse will you be riding in the final?

“I’ll bring Edesa’s Cannary to Gothenburg. He was jumping in 's-Hertogenbosch and Paris, so this week I am only going to work him on the flat. For his mind and condition, he is also going to the beach."

Who do you think will win?

“Hopefully me! I think Steve is in super form, as well as Henrik after his win in 's-Hertogenbosch. Those two, and Daniel Deusser, are my favourites from Europe, I don’t know how the Americans are at the moment.”

How special is it to compete in the Longines FEI World Cup Final?

“I love the World Cup series, and for sure the final. Next to the Nations Cup series, it’s my favourite tour and Gothenburg is one of the best venues in the world – especially when it’s a final there.”
