Daniel Deusser’s show groom Sean Lynch is back guest blogging, this time from the Longines FEI World Cup Final in Gothenburg, Sweden.
It’s happening..... It’s been a while, but this week is important!
After stress packing for the last three days – seeing as Monday after Gothenburg I will fly to Mexico to meet the horses for the Global Champions Tour – we made it here to Gothenburg Horse Show. One of my favourites, such a cool place! Horses travelled great and seem more than happy, especially Scuderia 1918 Tobago Z.
This week Tobago, Jasmine and Kiana. Yeah, two mares and a stallion – funny week ahead. I’m feeling kind of nervous and kind of excited; little man’s first World Cup Final! They grow up so fast!
I’m sharing the room with Terri, long-time friend and very entertaining to say the least. I guess there will be many Swedish snacks this week in the tack room. Cinnamon buns are my favourite after all.
The morning before the vet check was chilled, no stress – a little lunge, Swedish supermarket and a little nap! Then vet check done, all horses passed! Sitting here at 9pm waiting for the massage blanket to finish, while writing.
These kids have the good life – someone feeds and waters them, brushes them daily and they get a massage! Not so fun being a human after all! So far the stress levels haven’t kicked in, I mean it’s only Tuesday. I’m guessing Thursday morning I will faint, or maybe when he goes into the ring on Thursday! Maybe I will start a new hashtag #prayforsean. I mean anything can happen and you always want your horses to do their best, but this is the sport and no one can ever know!
Until next time.
Sean
