Eric Lamaze’s Olympic bronze medallist Fine Lady 5 (Forsyth FRH x Drosselklang II) and Canada’s Kara Chad make their international debut together at the CSI3* show in Mannheim, Germany this weekend.
However, 23-year-old Chad – who rides for Lamaze’s Torrey Pines Stables – only takes over the reins temporarily. Chad will compete the 16-year-old mare in Europe towards the Summer Tour at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, when Lamaze will be back in Fine Lady’s saddle.
Lamaze, who unfortunately was forced to take a break from competition due to health issues at the end of last year, competed Fine Lady both at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington and at the Longines Global Champions Tour of Miami Beach in March and April this year. Now, the Canadian legend looks ready for further international competition on home soil at Spruce Meadows.
