Fresh from his Grand Prix win in Chantilly on Saturday, Darragh Kenny (IRL) continued his winning streak when taking the top honours in Wednesday’s 1.45m Prize of Handwerk at CHIO Aachen.
Riding the 11-year-old stallion Cazador LS (Casall x Dollar de La Pierre), the Irish rider came in as last to go – snatching the win from home rider Andre Thieme (GER) and Cellisto (Celestrial x Calypso II) by an incredible three seconds. Pius Schwizer (SUI) finished third with Grand Cooper (Lord Z x Berlin), 0.03 seconds behind Thieme. Jur Vrieling (NED) came in fourth with Baltic VDL (Quaprice Bois Margot x Jus de Pomme), and Oliver Philippaerts was fifth with Cigaret JVH Z (Clinton x Kannan).
“He already won a 1.45m speed class in Calgary. I knew he’d love this stadium,” said Kenny after his victory with Cazador LS.
