Friday's highlight at the second stop of the Morocco Royal Tour, CSIO4*-W Rabat, was the 1.50m World Cup Prix SAR La Princesse Lalla Amina over two rounds.

A total of 68 horse-and-rider combinations took part, with only 17 of them going further to the second, deciding round – 10 of them on a clean sheet, three carrying only a single time fault and the rest with four faults each.

Bernardo Alves (BRA) on the 9-year-old stallion El Torreo de Muze (Taran de la Pomme x Vigo D'Arsouilles) took home the win, after going full speed to the last fence and stopping the clock on 40.47 seconds – a time that proved unbeatable. As the last to go, Abdullah Alsharbatly (KSA) on the 13-year-old gelding Larry 210 (breeding unknown) had to settle for runner-up position with a time of 40.92 seconds, while Bruce Goodin (NZL) on the 11-year-old gelding Backatorps Danny V (Quasimodo Z x Lupicor) took the third place. Emanule Camilli (ITA) on the 10-year-old gelding Jakko (Vagabond de la Pomme x Mr. Blue) took the fourth place with a double clear and a time of 48.09 seconds, and the fifth spot went to Helen Tredwell (GBR) on the 9-year-old gelding Galtur (Cornet's Stern x Balou du Rouet) who carried a single time fault from round one but cleared the second one in 50.82 seconds.

"El Torreo de Muze is not especially a horse made for speed," Alves said. "It's a Grand Prix horse, of course, but in a jump-off, it's still not fast enough. But I like winning and when I'm in a jump-off, I want to try my luck to the end. I was already lucky that this arena is very large, that suits my stallion who has a big stride, but more, I decided to do the last line in seven strides instead of eight which was madness, but it worked out and this was the first 4 * Grand Prix of the horse”!

"El Torreo de Muze is currently my only horse; it belongs to Joris de Brabander who is a true friend. Now, I hope to find new sponsors who trust me, maybe here in Morocco. In any case, this circuit is really wonderful," Alves said. "El Torreo de Muze has the capabilities, he is only 9-years-old. The work with Philippe Guerdat, here for the first time, has been fruitful and gives me good hopes for Tokyo, but the road is still long."

The first CSIO4*-W class of the day, a 1.35m Prix Wilaya Rabat Salé Kénitra went to Natale Chiaudani (ITA) on Belly Dancer RS (Eurocommerce Berlin x Acobat II). Abdullah Alsharbatly (KSA) on Beau Limit (No Limit x Hors La Loi II) took the second spot, while Billy Twomey (IRL) on Kimba Flamenco (Je T'Aime Flamenco x Heartbreaker) placed third. Jan Bobik (POL) on Chacco Amicor ZM (Chacco-Blue x Balou du Rouet) took fourth spot and the fifth spot went to Alison Barton (GBR) on Billy Rembrandt (Billy Congo x Kroongraaf).
