Andres Vereecke (BEL) and Igor van de Wittemoere (Cooper Vd Heffinck x Orlando) made it a home win in Sunday's CSI4* 1.6m Grand Prix de la Province de Liège.
Vereecke was one of ten riders making it to the jump-off, and with his time of 34.58 seconds he managed to beat Laura Kraut – one of USA's most decorated riders – by nearly a second. Kraut rode Curious George (Codex One x Dutch Capitol) to runner-up position after stopping the clock at 35.36 in the jump-off. Two Austrian riders finished in third and fourth: Gerfried Puck on Bingo du Parc ((Mylord Carthago*HN x Diamant de Semilly) and Christian Rhomberg on Cornetta 13 (Cornet Obolensky x Conway) – both double clear with the times 35.95 and 36.07 respectively. Fifth place went to Max Thirouin (FRA), who had the fastest time in the jump-off with Utopie Villelongue (Mylord Carthago*HN x Calypso d'Herbiers) but on the expense of four faults.
