The organizing committee of the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour in Oliva Nova, Spain, has announced that all competitions at Spring MET III have been cancelled as of Saturday March 14, 2020. Week 2 and 3 of Spring MET III 2020 will also be cancelled.

A press release from the organizers reads as follows:

"Earlier today, the Spanish government announced a state of emergency for Spain for the next 15 days starting from tomorrow. The state of emergency is a consequence of the Coronavirus Covid-19 outbreak. 

Furthermore, due to an announcement from the local authorities in Valencia, no competitions can be held from 00:00 tonight. In light of the escalating numbers of persons affected by the virus and the restrictions imposed by national governments, the FEI has also strongly recommended that organisers should cancel all events for the next four weeks until a reassessment of the situation can be made. This has left the organizing committee with no other choice than to cancel.

The MET staff will assist all competitors the best they can under these difficult conditions. 

Updated information about Spring MET IV will be available as soon as possible."
