Sean Lynch: I wasn’t built to be a home groom

When at home...

Sean with his new label maker. Sean with his new label maker.

Daniel Deusser’s show groom Sean Lynch is used to travel the world on a weekly basis, but like the rest of us he is currently stuck at home – which in this case is at Stephex Stables in Belgium. Here he entertains us with a small blog on how the days are passing by after the Coronavirus all of a sudden wiped out the March and April show calendar.

“Unfortunately, the situation with the Coronavirus has forced us to stay home. However, it’s the best for everyone – hopefully now when everyone goes on lockdown, we can get this cleared and eventually get back to the shows. It all just goes to show how quickly things can get out of control and out of our hands.

I must admit I’m not a good home groom. I keep looking at my truck and getting sad. Maybe I can sleep there one weekend actually...

Right now we are just working the horses, keeping them ticking over – no stress by the looks of it as we have a few more weeks at home at least.

Today I made a new friend, seeing as we can’t see our own. It’s a label maker! Now there are labels everywhere! If Deusser stands still too long I will label him GERMAN!!! Hahaha:-)

The thing that upsets me the most is the media! Every minute of every day there is something new going on. One news site released this, and one Facebook one says that! It gets people more worried and more stressed.

I had to move my dream holiday to the Maldives. While this is upsetting, it’s also ok – I certainly don’t want to spread this virus!

I do think I need to find a new hobby now, or I will end up doing online shopping and all my wages will disappear…

Anyway, I must go - need to label more things!!

Stay safe everyone, this isn’t a drill!

Sean"
