Next Wednesday, 19 August, the bidding closes on the second collection of Trigon Auctions. From 20h CEST the digital hammer will fall on 15 selected foals.
Stal Tops, the VDL Stud and Frederik De Backer have launched this group of foals under the name ‘Group 2’, with two further online auctions to go in the 2020 foal season.
With 13 foals presented and as many foals sold, an average of more than 19.000€ and a top price of 66.500€ the inaugural auction of Trigon became a great success.
“For this second group we’ve had more foals presented to us by breeders than for the first group,” says Janko van de Lageweg explaining the new bloodlines that feature in this collection. “We’re delighted with the variety in successful sports families that we can offer. The half-brother of Zenith, a Dominator colt out of the sister of BMC Simon or a unique granddaughter of Calleryama form an injection of new blood onto the market.”

“This group is slightly larger, with 15 foals compared to 13 in the first group. And we’ve been able to respond to the demand of clients to present more fillies with a strong pedigree. In fact we’ve got more blacktype (horses that jump at 1.45m level and higher) in the pedigrees than in the previous collection,” explains Frederik De Backer on the selection of foals in this group.
“Correctness is paramount for us and our clients. The health, general condition and correctness of the foals needs to be on the same level as with foals we’d buy or breed ourselves. In that field, buyers can be assured to buy with their eyes closed,” a spokesman of Stal Tops adds to the details of this collection.
The first bid have been registered and Wednesday 19 August we’ll know which buyers will automatically enter the annual Breeders & Buyers Premium worth 20.000€. Buyers of the foals that become successful sport horses will be rewarded in the future, as will the breeders of these foals.
