Edited press release from the Sunshine Tour
The first week of the Sunshine Tour’s autumn-edition in Vejer de la Frontera, Spain concluded today with the CSI3* 1.50m Grand Prix where the victory went to USA's Laura Kraut and Casco Bay (Quaprice Bois Margot x Flipper D’Elle).
Nine of the 34 horse-and-rider combinations in the Grand Prix reached the jump-off, where Kraut was the fastest with 37.19 seconds. The jump-off course was challenging, with tight rollbacks and a very long gallop to the last upright. Kraut attacked the course with power and precision, shaving off tenths of a second as she rode the first part of the course, then turned in the air over the penultimate fence – a double – before galloping to the last to take over the lead.
No one could beat Kraut, but close behind – in 37.30 seconds – followed home hero Eduardo Alvarez Aznar and Legend (Ogano Sitte x Nabab de Reve). Third and fourth place went to Portugese riders Joao Marquilhas on Glamour ES (Echo Vant Spieveld x Calvados) and Luis Sabino Goncalves on Argan de Beliard (Mylord Carthago x Ahorn). Ireland's Anthony Condon finished fifth aboard SFS Aristio (Arko III x Voltaire).
