For its 5th and final collection for 2020, Trigon Auctions has created a group of 12, strictly selected 3-year-old horses and the bidding has started. As it has become a custom, the bidding ends on Wednesday, in this case 16 December from 20h CET onwards.

Following the foal season, it is a logical step to offer our clients a group of 3-year olds, that turn 4 in 2021. Generally, it is tough to judge 3-year-old horses, but this group has been with us for some time now and the horses have been presented several times for selection. That is why our group is relatively small but very consistent and representable for all 3 partners.

“In the previous auction, we presented 4 great mares and both clients and sellers reacted well to the initiative” says Janko van de Lageweg. ​“Now we’ve put together a group of horses that match the quality, representative to all 3 partners. There’s again clear quality in this collection.”

“The 3-year olds have been recruited over multiple selection moments and we’ve seen every horse several times. It brought us to a fairly slim group in which every horse has our full support” adds Frederik De Backer.

“This is an exciting new phase in the project that we started over half a year ago. Just like with our foals we weren’t led by a pedigree, but by a complete horse in this case. Talent, type, vetting, it all comes in to play and these 3 year-olds tick all boxes,” explains a spokesperson for Stal Tops.
