Edited press release from International Jumping Dinard
Jumping International Dinard kicked off on Thursday, with a win for Belgium's Jérôme Guéry and Eras Sainte Hermelle (Vargas de Ste-Hermelle x Andiamo Z) in the CSI5* 1.45m presented by Laiterie de Montaigu.
The Belgian rider and the 11-year-old stallion clinched the victory with a time of 32.60 seconds in phase two of the competition. "Everything worked as planned," Guéry said. "When I walked the course, I had decided to go fast but not push my horse too much, since it is only the first day of competition. He listened to me very carefully, I am really happy with him."
Placed second, French rider Mathieu Billot was in the lead almost until the end of the class with his mare Ilena S (Verdi TN x Calido I) and had to give away the victory for two tenths of a seconds. "It was a very pleasant class, Dinard is a magnificent show, we are delighted to be here. The organisation is perfect, the ground too. Ilena just won two ranking classes in Saint Tropez, and today she jumped fantastic again," Billot said.
Third place went to Dutch rider Kim Emmen riding Warriors Glory (Warrior x Caretino Glory), with a time of 32.69 second – delighted with her first participation at Jumping International Dinard.
