The Dutch Equestrian Federation (KNHS) has today announced that Jos Lansink will be the new national coach for the Dutch showjumpers. Starting up from January 1, 2022, Lansink becomes the successor of Rob Ehrens – who has led the Dutch team to many successes during the last sixteen years.

Lansink has had an extremely successful sports career, with participation at seven Olympic Games, six World Equestrian Games, and ten European Championships. In 1992, Lansink won Olympic team gold in Barcelona as a part of the Dutch squad, while he in 2006 became World Champion in Aachen – then representing Belgium. Lansink is also renowned as one of the very best trainers in the world.

While still a Belgian, Lansink is now back in the Dutch colours – this time as coach. “I am really looking forward to working together with the Dutch riders and those involved,” Lansink says in a statement from KNHS. “The Netherlands has very good riders, and I think it's great to be able to do this for the Dutch equestrian sport.”

“I may have a Belgian nationality, but in my heart, I will always stay a Dutchman and I am happy to be able to contribute to the success of Dutch showjumping,” Lansink said.
