Kristaps Neretkieks (LAT) won Sunday's CSI5*-W 1.40-1.60m FEI Jumping World Cup of Sharjah at the H.H. Ruler of Sharjah Cup 2022 in the United Arab Emirates. Riding the 12-year-old Valour (Verdi x Calido), Neretnieks was the only rider from the starting field of 37 that kept a clean score sheet in the second round. 

Jack Ryan (IRL) on the 10-year-old BBS McGregor (Cardento 933 x Mark Twain) finished as runner-up after picking up only a time fault in the second round, while Evelina Tovek (SWE) on the 12-year-old Winnetou de la Hamente Z (Winningmood x Socrate de Chivre) took the third place with two time faults in round two. Though fastest of the class with his time of 44.85 seconds, Henrik von Eckermann (SWE) on the 11-year-old Glamour Girl (VDL Zirocco Blue x Caletto I) had to settle for the fourth place when a pole fell resulting in four faults. William Funnell (GBR) on the 10-year-old Equine America Billy Picador (Billy Mexico x Animo) took the fifth place with one down in 46.09 seconds. 

Earlier in the day, Donald Whitaker (GBR) on Feodina (Zacharov x Corland) won the CSI5*-W 1.50m Sharjah Sport Council Cup with a double clear round in 34.46 seconds. Bart Bles (NED) on Kriskras DV (Cooper vd Heffinck x Kashmir van Schuttershof) took the runner-up position, while the third place went to Wilm Vermeir (BEL) on Joyride S. Janika Sprunger (SUI) on Carlotta (Cornet Obolensky x Arpeggio) took the fourt place and the fifth spot went to Jur Vrieling (NED) on Griffin van de Heffinck (Castelino van de Helle x Contact van de Heffinck).
