Rene Dittmer (GER) took a home win in Saturday's CSI4* 1.55m Championat der Eheleute Rita & Günter Halfpap und der Hengsthaltung Halfpap & Wulschner in Gross Viegeln, Germany.

Eleven of the 44 horse-and-rider combinations in the class moved on to the winning round, where the riders started over on zero penalties. Dittmer and the 11-year-old gelding Burlington Riverland (Mylord Carthago x Dollar du Murier) repeated their clear from the first round and were the fastest in a time of 47.67 seconds to take the win in this competition counting for the world ranking. Oliver Lazarus (RSA) had moved on to the winning round after picking up four faults in the first round, but delivered a fast clear against the clock with Butterfly Ennemmel (Quaprice Bois Margot x Lux Z) to take the runner-up position with a time of 47.78 – just fractions behind Dittmer. Reigning European Champion Andre Thieme (GER) finished third with Conacco (Conoglio x Chacco-Blue), clear in both rounds but with a slightly slower time than Lazarus against the clock – 48.16. Rene Tebbel (UKR) finished fourth with Tulum (Chacco-Blue x Captain Paul I), and Gerben Morsink (NED) fifth with Carsey Z (Carthino Z x Guidam).

Earlier in the day, Hannes Ahlmann (GER) won the CSI4* 1.50m Medium Tour Final with the 15-year-old Nerrado (Nekton x Acorado I). Only five of the 32 horse-and-rider combinations made it to the jump-off in this world ranking class, where Ahlmann was the fastest in a time of 39.34 seconds.

The Germans filled up the top four, with Philip Houston taking second aboard Sandro's Bella 3 (Sandro Boy x Chacco-Blue) after stopping the clock at 39.57 seconds, while third place went to Harm Lahde on Grey Chester 2 (Grey Top x Picard) with a time of 41.22. With the last double clear of the class, Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann and Cornela 6 (Cornet Obolensky x Caretino 2) finished fourth, while Harry Allen (IRL) ended fifth after having eight faults in the jump-off with Francis 146 (Cellestial x Cartani).
