This week, the world’s best riders get to compete in the gardens of the Villa Borghese during the 89th edition of the CSIO5* Roma Piazza di Siena. Staged in the heart of the Italian capital, the event will have two major highlights – the CSIO5* Intesa SanPaolo Nations Cup and the Rolex Grand Prix.
Ten teams are entered for the Nations Cup: Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain and USA. Among the big names that will be competing in Rome are Martin Fuchs (SUI), Steve Guerdat (SUI), Laura Kraut (USA), Jerome Guery (BEL), Gregory Wathelet (BEL), Kevin Staut (FRA), Penelope Leprevost (FRA), Darragh Kenny (IRL) and Edwina Tops-Alexander (AUS). Italy comes strong in force too, with riders such as Piergiorgio Bucci, Emilio Bicocchi, Lorenzo De Luca and Emanuele Gaudiano among the many home stars on the entry list.
