Olivier Perreau and the 11-year-old gelding Bresil de Carnaval (Mylord Carthago*HN x Rosire) were the best in the CSI4* 1.50m Trofeo Lacera, Saturday's biggest class in Gijon.
Twelve of the 31 horse-and-rider combinations moved on to the winning round, and the French rider was the fastest of them when stopping the clock at 44.36 seconds. Two Dutch riders followed in second and third; Niels Kersten on Tippy Z (Tyson x Jetset-D) with a time of 44.53, and Mel Thijssen on Florida Balia NL (Bustique x Lux) in 46.04. Ireland's Anthony Condon and Creevyquinn Pearl (Cardento x Corland) took fourth, and Pedro Junqueira Muylaert (BRA) on Townhead Liberty V (Böckmann's Lord Pezi x Stolzenberg) fifth.
