Last weekend, Denis Lynch’s faithful partner Abbervail van het Dingeshof was retired from the sport after a long and successful career that counts over seven years in the top sport. It was after Abbi’s win in Saturday's Preis des Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois in Basel that the moment came to thank the now 16-year-old gelding for everything he has done for his rider, Denis Lynch, and owner, Thomas Straumann.
The gelding by Nonostop x Jus de Pommes has had a fantastic career under Lynch, winning the 2010 Grand Prix of Wiesbaden, the 2011 Rolex World Cup in Den Bosch, the 2014 Rabobank Championship of Rotterdam, the 2015 Grand Prix of Braunschweig, the 2015 Golden Whip in Nörten-Hardenberg as well as recording numerous other wins and podium finishes in some of the world’s biggest and most prestigious classes. Abbervail van het Dingeshof also jumped the World Cup Final twice; in 2011 and 2012.
We wish Abbi a happy retirement!
