Last weekend, Christian Ahlmann's Codex One (Contendro x Glückspilz) was officially retired from the sport during the Longines Global Champions Tour in Hamburg, Germany. It was here, that the now 17-year-old stallion won the LGCT Grand Prix back in 2013. And, there were many more victories: The CSI5* Grand Prix of Aachen, the CSI5* Grand Prix of Valkenswaard, the CSI5* Grand Prix of Basel, the CSI5* World Cup of Stuttgart, the CSI5* Grand Prix of Berlin, the CSI3* Grand Prix of Frankfurt and the CSI3* Grand Prix of Neumünster.
With Ahlmann in the saddle, Codex One also jumped to team silver at the European Championships in Herning in 2013 as well as representing Germany at the Olympic Games in London in 2012 and the World Equestrian Games in Caen in 2014.
With this we look back at Codex One's career, as we wish him a very happy retirement.
