At the beginning of July, Dani G. Waldman announced the retirement of her former top horse Lizziemary (Cabri d’Elle x Accord II, breeder M. Dawson).
Waldman took over the reins on the now 15-year-old mare in 2016, and the year after the two won the CSI5* LGCT Grand Prix together in Cascais. In 2018, they topped the CSI5* Rolex Grand Prix at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington and in 2019 they won the CSI5* LGCT Grand Prix in Shanghai and Berlin as well as the CSI5* Palm Beach Equine Clinic Grand Prix at the Winter Equestrian Festival. Waldman and Lizziemary represented Israel at the 2017 and 2019 European Championships as well as at the 2018 World Equestrian Games, and helped Israel qualify for the Olympic Games when winning the Group C qualifier in Moscow in the summer of 2019.
Prior to Waldman, Billy Twomey had lots of success with Lizziemary – winning the CSIO5* Longines King George V Gold Cup at Hickstead in 2016.
With this photo special, we wish Lizziemary a happy retirement!
