At the beginning of March, Bertram Allen announced the retirement of his 19-year-old partner Romanov (Heartbreaker x Fedor).
During his career, the KWPN stallion won several Grand Prix competitions all around the world – such as the CSI5* Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Paris, the CSIO5* Longines Grand Prix of La Baule as well as the CSI5* Longines FEI World Cup of Bordeaux. On top, comes countless other victories.
Before Allen took hold of the reins, Billy Twomey rode the stallion to several international victories.
"Romanov really was the horse of my lifetime. He was introduced to me by my friend Billy Twomey and played a huge part in launching my career. Romanov has everything anyone could wish for in a horse, and he gave me his best always," Allen stated on his website when announcing the retirement.
And with this, we celebrate Romanov's retirement with pictures from a long and successful career.
