Henrik von Eckermann and Glamour Girl victorious in Friday’s CSI5*-W 1.50m Caixabank Trophy at Casas Novas

This week, the 2025/2026-season of the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Western European League continues on to its fifth stop at Casas Novas Equestrian Center in A Coruña, Spain, where the five-star action got underway on Friday.

Sweden’s former world number one Henrik von Eckermann and the 14-year-old mare Glamour Girl (VDL Zirocco Blue x Caletto I, bred by Stoeterij Gaesbeek V.O.F.) topped the CSI5*-W 1.50m Caixabank Trophy – a competition counting for the Longines Rankings Group B – to take home Friday’s biggest win at the Spanish venue.

With a time of 64.34 seconds, the Swede took the win ahead of the host nation’s Armando Trapote and Tornado VS (Toulon x Contender) in second in 66.85. Matthew Sampson (GBR) and Latte Macchiato (Pacino x Boherdeal Clover) completed the podium, taking third with a time of 67.11, while Philipp Schulze Topphoff (GER) aboard Carla NRW (Comme Il Faut x Potsdam NRW) followed in fourth with a time of 67.58. Joe Stockdale (GBR) and Ebanking (Etoulon x VDL Sheraton) rounded off the top five when crossing the finish line in 67.64.

Earlier during the evening, the 2024 Olympic bronze medallist Maikel van der Vleuten with the 14-year-old mare Dywis HH (Toulon x Corofino II, bred by Peter Huismann) bested a field of 55 horse-and-rider combinations in the CSI5*-W 1.45m Checkpoint Trophy.

Stopping the clock on 59.72 seconds, the Dutch duo took the win ahead of Pieter Devos (BEL) and Jarina J (Cicero Z x Harley) in second in 61.26 and Victor Bettendorf (LUX) aboard Milky Way 111 (De Flor 111 Z x Cassini I) in third with a time of 61.77. Crossing the beam in 61.80, Imma Roquet Autonell (ESP) with Icenta del Maset (Indret del Masset x Dobel’s Cento) followed in fourth, while Leopold van Asten (NED) and VDL Groep Kwinbellie (Toulon x Indoctro) finished fifth in 62.20.
