Pieter Devos and Jarina J take the title in Saturday’s CSI5*-W 1.55m Longines Grand Prix at Casas Novas

Saturday’s highlight at the Casas Novas Equestrian Center in A Coruña, Spain, where the 2025/2026-season of the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Western European League continues this weekend, was the CSI5*-W 1.55m Longines Grand Prix presented by Marques de Riscal.

Counting for the Longines Rankings Group A, the competition saw 44 horse-and-rider combinations line up, with ten pairs clearing the first-round track set by Spain’s very own Santiago Varela. In the deciding jump-off, it was Belgium’s Pieter Devos and the 11-year-old mare Jarina J (Cicero Z x Harley) that took the top honours after clocking the winning time of 40.04 seconds.

Robert Whitaker (GBR) and Vermento (Argento x Skippy) followed in second with a time of 40.42, while Christian Ahlmann (GER) aboard Blueberry (Conrad x Creve Couer) completed the podium in third when crossing the finish line in 40.83. Victor Bettendorf (LUX) and Doha de Riverland (Nabab de Reve x Quaprice Boimargot Quincy) followed in fourth with a time of 41.10 seconds, while Oda Charlotte Lyngvaer (NOR) with Carabella vd Neyen Z (Carrera VDL x Lux Z) finished fifth in 43.82.

Earlier during the evening, France’s Julien Epaillard and the 11-year-old gelding Easy Up de Grandry (Jarnac x For Pleasure) won the CSI5*-W 1.50m Grupo Eilen Trophy. Stopping the clock on 59.86 in the competition judged as a Table A, the current world number nine took the top honours ahead Sweden’s Henrik von Eckermann who continued in great form with Glamour Girl (VDL Zirocco Blue x Caletto I), placing second with a time of 60.34.

Michael Pender (IRL) and HHS Orchidee (Le Roi x Luidam) took the third place when crossing the finish line in 61.09, followed by the host nation’s Alvaro González De Zarate Fernandez with Casa Diva PS (Casallco x Silvio I) in fourth and Simon Delestre (FRA) aboard Golden Boy DK (Diamant de Semilly x Cash) in fifth.
