The CSI4*-W event in Doha finished with a home win for Sheikh Ali Bin Khalid Al Thani in Saturday's FEI World Cup counting in the Arab League.
The Qatari rider brought the victory home aboard the 12-year-old gelding First Devision (Andiamo x Perhaps vh Molenvondel) after producing one of only two double clears in this class that counted fourteen riders. The second double clear of the day belonged to Australia's Edwina Tops-Alexander who finished as runner-up on Inca Boy van't Vianahof (Diamant de Semilly x Cash), seven seconds behind Al Thani against the clock. With four faults in the first round and a clear in the second, Ali Al Khorafi took the third place flying the FEI flag on Cheril (Guidam Sohn x Centgraf). Turkey's Derin Demirsoy finished fourth on Harry K (Equest Carnute x Robin Z II) and Qatar's Bassem Mohammed fifth on Gunder (Thunder van de Zuuthoeve x Randel Z).
The latter was the winner of the 1.45m Longines Ranking class earlier in the day, then aboard The Toymaker (Casall x Joost). Edwina Tops-Alexander finished second, and Greece's Athina Onassis third.
