The finals of the 2015 Longines FEI World Cup Jumping China League, which had a prize money of 170.000 Euro, has been decided today. The winner was not the number one on the  world ranking list, nor Maikel van der Vleuten, who won the qualifier yesterday, but is called Zhao Zhiwen.

Only two riders went clear and moved on to the jump-off; Zhao Zhiwen, also called Daniel, with the 14-year-old gelding Bolero and Liu Tongyan with the 12-year-old mare KuBu Qi. Daniel Zhiwen went out as the winner though, with four faults against the clock.

Zhiwen also secured himself the overall win in the China League, and a ticket to the World Cup Finals in Gothenburg next year.

Daniel Zhiwen is no unfamiliar name on the international circuit; he has ridden in Germany at Ludger Beerbaum stables and took part in the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 for China.
