Janika Sprunger (SUI) took yet another victory in Poznan when going to the top in Sunday's CSI4*-W 1.60m Grand Prix of Poznan for the award of the President of PKO Bank Polski, under the patronage of the President of Poznan – this time riding the 9-year-old King Edward (Edward 28 x Feo).

Five riders out of the fifty in the class made it to the jump-off in this Grand Prix, also included in the Central European League World Cup and Cavaliada Tour, where Sprunger was the fastest when stopping the clock at 39.28 seconds. Only 0.19 seconds behind followed runner-up Wojciech Wojcianiec (POL) on Chintablue (Chintan x Chacco-Blue), while Emanuele Camilli (ITA) ended third with Jakko (Vagabond de La Pomme x Mr Blue) 0.20 seconds away from Wojcianiec. Elian Baumann (SUI) finished fourth after delivering the fastest jump-off – but on the expense of one rail down, while fifth place went to Janine Rijkens (GER) who also had four faults against the clock.

“This is my first time in Poznań and I would never have expected the atmosphere of the event to be so great. It was a very successful event, especially for me. Today the parcour was definitely the most challenging and the subsequent obstacles kept emerging so quickly. The horses had to be very concentrated and the riders had to make quick decisions. Eventually, I was glad that only five riders got into the jump-off, thanks to which my chances for victory were greater. What more can I say? We took advantage of that chance,” said Janika Sprunger.

“I’m very happy with the result, particularly as I haven't been lucky for the last two days. Today Chintablue performed phenomenal jumps and everything worked out as planned. A split second and I would be in Janika's place today,” said Wojciech Wojcianiec.

“It wasn't luck, it was just a quicker ride,” added Janika laughing.
