The five-star action at the 2025-edition of Gothenburg Horse Show – host to the 14th and final leg in the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Western European League 2024/2025-season – kicked off on Thursday with a Belgian win in the CSI5*-W 1.50m Prize of AJ Produkter.
With a time of 38.22 in the jump-off of fifteen, Belgium’s Jeroen Appelen and the 13-year-old gelding Dancing Wolf O.L (Mylord Carthago x Contender) took the win in Thursday night’s feature class, while Denis Lynch (IRL) and King Blue (Dallas x Chacco-Blue) slotted into second in 39.78. Donald Whitaker (GBR) and Ulania 3 (Uriko x Acord II) placed third with their time of 39.79, followed by Kim Emmen (NED) and Imagine (Cassini Gold x Lord Z) in fourth in 40.46 and Maikel van der Vleuten (NED) aboard O’Bailey vh Brouwershof N.O.P. (Darco x Contact vd Heffinck) in fifth in 40.53.
The first CSI5*-W class of the day, the 1.45m Prize of Agria went to Kevin Staut (FRA) and New Libero One d’Asschaut (Van Gogh x For Pleasure) in 57.03 ahead of the hosts’ Peder Fredricson and Hansson WL (Hip Hop x Iowa) in second in 57.28 and Maikel van der Vleuten (NED) aboard Elwikke (Eldorado vd Zeshoek x Quick Star) in third in 58.13.
