Penelope Leprevost is on a roll, and on Saturday the French rider's winning streak continued at CSI5* Jumping Verona when she went to the top in the Premio Selleria Equipe and the Premio Equiline. Penelope - who won the World Cups in Oslo and Lyon as well as the Grand Prix at the latter event - recently moved up to become the world's leading lady rider after her fantastic results in October, and followed up today by being the best in the 1.55 feature class and the 1.45 speed class at the Italian event.
Riding Nice Stephanie (Cardento x Ralme Z), Penelope was one of eight riders in the 1.55 class moving on to the jump-off where she managed to snatch the victory from yesterday's winners Jessica Springsteen and Davendy S (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Pachat II) by a small 0.14 seconds. Dutch rider Gerco Schröder finished third on Glock's Zaranza (Karandasj x Heartbreaker), over a second behind on Leprevost's time. Italy's Emanuele Gaudiano and Switzerland's Janika Sprunger took care of fourth anf fifth with the last double clear rounds of the class.
The victory in the 1.45 class came on Sultane des Ibis (Quidam de Revel x Elan de la Cour).
"This is a really great time for me, my horses are going really well right now and I hope you will be interviewing me again as the winner tomorrow evening," Leprevost smiled after her wins. On her victory in the feature class, the stylish lady rider said: "I wanted to go for it and I also knew that Jessica (Springsteen) is very fast with Davendy S so I had to give everything!"
