Marcus Ehning (GER) warmed up for this afternoon’s Longines FEI World Cup at Kingsland Oslo Horse Show with a win in the CSI5*-W 1.55m presented by Kingsrød Trading.
Seven of the 29 horse-and-rider combinations in the class moved on to the jump-off where Ehning and the 10-year-old stallion Diathago (Diamant de Semilly x Carthago Z) posted the fastest clear round in a time of 33.37 seconds. Over a second behind, in 34.64, followed Harry Allen (IRL) and Carlo (Conthargos x Balou du Rouet) – taking the runner-up position. Third place went to Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida (POR) and Jorden van de Kruishoeve (Nabab de Reve x For Pleasure), who crossed the finish line clear in 36.19 seconds.
Lillie Keenan (USA) and Agana van het Gerendal Z (Aganix du Seigneur x Topas) gave Ehning’s time a good shot, but with the last fence down in a time of 32.31 seconds the pair had to settle for fourth. Fifth went to Kevin Jochems (NED) and Emmerton (Silvio I x Sam R), also with four faults and a time of 34.62 seconds.
