Brazil's Marlon Modolo Zanotelli and VDL Edgar M (Arezzo VDL x Marlon) won Saturday night's CSI5*-W 1.60m Rikstoto Grand Prix at Kingsland Oslo Horse Show in the Norwegian capital.
With a time of 37.32, the Brazilian – currently ranked seventh on the Longines Ranking – was the fastest in a jump-off between seven horse-and-rider-combinations. Germany's Daniel Deusser on Kiana van het Herdershof (Toulon x Lys De Darmen) had to settle for the runner-up position when the clock stopped on 38.18 for the current world rank number 13. Deusser's compatriot Gerrit Nieberg on Blues d'Aveline CH (Baloussini x Coriall 2) took the third place, while Andreas Schou (DEN) on Independent (Diamant de Revel x Careful) placed fourth and Maikel van der Vleuten (NED) on Dywis HH (Toulon x Corofino II) fifth.
The Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ 2022/2023 Western European League kicks off in Oslo on Sunday. The 2022/2023 Western European League season will be a busy one, with fourteen CSI5*-W fixtures in eleven countries between October 2022 and the end of February 2023. With the seven best results counting for each rider, the top eighteen will qualify for the final in Omaha, USA, in April.
