Fresh from their World Cup-win in Oslo two weeks ago, Penelope Leprevost and Flora de Mariposa (For Pleasure x Powerlight) took the win in Friday's Longines Grand Prix in Lyon. France's leading lady rider met up against no less than nineteen others in the jump-off, as the first round came to a close - and as expected it became a race against the clock.
As always, Leprevost and Flora de Mariposa were lightening fast. The two took the win with 0.58 seconds down to runner-up Henrik von Eckermann on Sansibar 89 (Stakkato Gold x Wolkenstein I) from Sweden. Third place went to Germany's Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum on Fibonacci (For Feeling x Corland) who was a little over a second behind on Penelope's time and had the final double clear of the day.
Fourth was Kevin Staut on Reveur des Hurtebise HDC (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Capricieux Des Six Censes) who was the fastest in the jump-off but on the expense of four faults, and fifth Olivier Robert on Quenelle du Py (Tresor du Renom x Ryon d'Anzex).
