This week the Longines FEI World Cup Western European League comes to a close in Bordeaux, and the French event will be the last chance for the riders in this series to pick up points in order to qualify for the final in Gothenburg in March.
Eighteen riders qualify out of this league, and it normally takes around fourty points to get to the final. The current standings ahead of Bordeaux can be found here.
In Bordeaux, top riders such as world no. one Scott Brash (GBR), European Vice Champion Gregory Wathelet (BEL), three-times World Cup Champion Marcus Ehning (GER), third on the 2015 final podium Bertram Allen (IRL) and home favorite Kevin Staut (FRA) will battle it out for those last points needed to get to the final.
