The Saturday in Verona was kicked off with a CSI5*-W 1.50m speed class counting for the Longines Ranking presented by Franco Tucci, and it was Switzerland's Steve Guerdat on Albführen's Happiness (Heartbeat x Lambrusco Ask) who took the win with an amazingly fast round and a time of 54.07 seconds.
The French were out in full force in this competition; Simon Delestre on Sultan du Chateau (Kannan x Galoubet A) took the second place with the time of 54.70 seconds and Kevin Staut on Silver Deux de Virton HDC (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Heartbreaker) galloped his way to third place with a time of 58.15 seconds.
Italian riders Lorenzo de Luca on Balou de Couer Joye (Baloubet du Rouet x Argentinus) and Alberto Zorzi on Volage du Val Henry (Quidam de Revel x Cassini I) again looked determined to give their home crowds their money's worth by riding fast rounds but sadly both of them had the last fence down.
