Frank Schuttert (NED) and the 13-year-old mare Isis (Cardento x Lupicor) took a popular home win in Saturday night’s CSI5*-W 1.60m Anemone Horse Trucks Grand Prix of Amsterdam presented by Stephex Group at the 2026-edition of Jumping Amsterdam.
“Very little could have gone better,” Schuttert said in a press release from Jumping Amsterdam. “I was hard to beat today and I’m extremely happy about that. The jump-off went exactly as I had planned, from start to finish. She was fully with me. She’s naturally very fast, which means I have to stay calm myself. I saw Gilles Thomas go and he was very quick, but I knew exactly where I could gain time. If I ride the same lines as my competitors, Isis is often still faster. At the end I rode seven strides to the final fence. It’s fantastic that it all worked out.”
Eleven horse-and-rider combinations from the 41 at start delivered a clear in the first round and joined the deciding jump-off in the competition that counted for the Longines Rankings Group B. In the jump-off, Schuttert and Isis rushed over the finish line in 37.82 seconds, taking the win ahead of Luke Dee (NZL) and Gangster WW (Grand Slam x Kannan) in second in 38.78 and Gilles Thomas (BEL) aboard Chuck Marienshof Z (Colestus x Emerald) in third with a time of 39.18. Patrick Stühlmeyer (GER) on Conterno-Blue PS (Veyron x Chacco-Blue) and Annelies Vorsselmans (BEL) aboard VDL Kelton (Bubalu VDL x Corland) followed in fourth and fifth respectively.
“I’ve been riding Isis for two and a half years now and we’ve already won several Grand Prix together,” Schuttert said about his winning mount in a press release from Jumping Amsterdam. “She’s an exceptional horse with a special character. She’s very fresh and happy, sometimes maybe a bit too eager. She loves going to shows and enjoys the attention she gets. When the stands are full, she knows it’s time to perform.”
“It’s fantastic to ride for this crowd,” the happy winner continued. “This is the best audience in the world. Winning here as a Dutch rider makes it even more special. Every year it’s a privilege to compete here. The crowd completely lost it, and that gives you an incredible rush as a rider.”
