Kevin Staut took a home win in Saturday's 'lunch' class at the Longines Masters of Paris on Saturday; the 1.45 Prix Salon du Cheval. The French rider was aboard For Joy van'T Zorgvliet HDC (For Pleasure x Heartbreaker), and produced a time of 38.15 seconds in the winning round. "Jean-Maurice Bonneau gave me a few tips for the jump-off, but I didn't watch the others go round as I didn't want to be tempted into going too fast,” explained Kevin after.
However, For Joy is a naturally fast horse and with his usual precision and elegance Kevin rode a perfect jump-off while cheered on by the crowds - which put him ahead of the Olympic champion Steve Guerdat on Albfuehren's Happiness (Heartbeat x Lambrusco Ask) who was 0.15 seconds behind on the clock. Third place went to Thursday's winning pair Martin Fuchs and Uzo van het Hobos Z (Up to Date Miltoo x Chellano Z) who were 0.40 seconds behind Staut.
The CSI2*/5* 1.45 class went to Swiss rider Jane Richard Philips on Zekina Z (Zandor Z x Carthago Z).
