Great Britain’s 27-year-old Millie Allen and Quick Diamant HR (Diamant de Semilly x Quidam de Revel) won Saturday morning’s CSIO5* 1.45m Prix Grandprix at the 2025-edition of Jumping International de La Baule in France.
With a time of 47.36, Allen and the 9-year-old mare took the win 3.65 seconds ahead of the runner-up pair, Italy’s Fabio Brotto and Go Bolensky Delle Roane (Cornet Obolensky x Concorde). Rene Lopez Lizarazo (COL) and Casa Lady Love PS OLD (Casalico x Conthargos) completed the podium in third in 52.05, while Jason Smith (SUI) on One And Only Eda Z (Ogano Sitte x Cherubin van de Helle) finished fourth in 54.52, followed by Lara Tryba (FRA) aboard Katania (Mylord Carthago x Corofino 2) in fifth in 55.03.
“She is just a speedy horse,” Allen told World of Showjumping after her victory. “I can just go and she is naturally really fast – so it is easy to do these speed classes with her. I’m extremely grateful to be able to come and ride here, it has been a dream of mine,” she said about competing at the traditional French venue. “I came here for the under 25 classes a few years ago, and since then jumping the five-star classes here has been a bit of a goal for me.”
