Schelstraete Equine Law is expanding
Luc Schelstraete LL.M., managing partner and founder of Schelstraete Equine Law is pleased to announce that over the course of the past ten months the Firm has significantly expanded.
In November 2021 Piotr Wawrzyniak LL.M. became equity partner and co-managing director of the Firm. Piotr has been in charge of the business division of Schelstraete. He specializes in international contract law, business law and sports law.
Recently, Schelstraete has welcomed to its team:
I. Prof. dr. Burghard Piltz, a renowned authority in the area of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). Burghard Piltz has been appointed Of counsel CISG. In addition Burghard Piltz is a renowned international arbitrator, attorney in Germany and has served many years as the Chairman of the German-Argentinian Chamber of Commerce.
II. Prof. Zachary R. Calo is sports law and arbitration professor at the Hamad bin Khalifa University in Doha, Qatar. Prof. Calo, a member of the District of Columbia Bar, is also an international lawyer and arbitrator in Qatar. Prof. Calo has been appointed Of Counsel of the Firm. In addition, prof. Calo shall be in charge of Schelstraete Equine Law Middle East.
III. Laura ter Steeg, a criminal lawyer from Amsterdam who has been appointed the Firm’s Compliance Advisor. Laura is a rising star of the Dutch criminal law.
IV. Bushra (Al) Wakid from Riyadh, the kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been appointed as PR Manager of the Middle East. Bushra is an equestrian and has a demonstrated record in the fields of journalism, public relations, and media. Bushra studied English studies at Princess Norah bin Abdulrahman University, and is a researcher in international studies/relations.

Recognizing and appreciating the international character of the equestrian business and sports and in order to provide an on-going and high level services to the equestrian community, Schelstraete has entered in various cooperation agreements around the world.
