VDL Keystone VDL Keystone, gelding by Etoulon VDL.

The 10th edition of the WEF Sport Horse Auction proves a great partnership between ESP and the VDL Stud. This year is the 10th time we are with horses from our VDL Stud in Wellington for the WEF Sport Horse Auction. We are very proud and grateful for the great partnership with ESP.

We have very high expectations for this year’s group of horses. This year’s group is a mix between 5 to 8-year-old very talented horses. Horses that just started 1.10m level till horses that already competed at 1.40m level. Some of the horses have been placed in finals at the National Championships in Holland and the National Champion of 7-year-olds in Brasil. There is a lot of diversity, horses for amateurs but also for the top professional level, for the hunter, equitation and the  jumper ring. We think this is a group of horses that will suit a wide range of riders, owners and trainers at the US, Canadian and Middle/South American market. We are happy that we can offer live, phone and online bidding again as these horses are interesting for equestrians from all over the world.

VDL Magnifiek VDL Magnifiek, mare by Chacoon Blue.

There are 3 mares in the collection that are from great quality:

  • VDL Magnifiek is a very modern young mare, with a great sport body with a lot of potential

  • VDL Lolita is a mare that is maybe started a little later as she had a foal first, but she has a great rideability with all the potential. Her son became Premium Stallion at the stallion approvals for the KWPN

  • The 3rd mare is VDL Kyaklahoma, sister to the 1.60m mare Doklahoma VDL, who showed her great talent already at the National Championships for 6-year-olds in Holland where she finished 7th

VDL Japan VDL Japan, gelding by Everglade VDL.

Then the 11 geldings:

  • VDL Mr. Cornet is a 5-year-old with great potential and also the technique to become a great hunter for the future.

  • VDL Liberty placed 4th in the final of the National Championship for 5-year-olds in The Netherlands, great prospect for the future

  • Cardento-son VDL Kenner became 9th in the National Championship for 6-year-olds in The Netherlands

  • VDL Keystone is a horse with lots of potential for the jumper ring and with his great technique and appearance he also could be a hunter prospect

  • VDL Linus is a horse with a great technique and reflexes

  • VDL Kannan's Boy is a very scopy Kannan-son that has the potential for the upper level of the sport, but also is a great equitation type

  • Dallas VDL-son VDL Karlniek is a horse that will work himself up to a great level with his great mind

  • VDL James Blue already jumped at 1.40m level and is a great horse to ride with lots of scope with a great technique

  • VDL Japan is a little greener for his age but jumped already at 1.30m level and has the potential for the upper level of the sport but also could be your next equitation horse

  • VDL Jonathan showed his great potential at the National Championship for 7-year-olds in Brasil and became champion. He jumped already at 1.40m level.

VDL Legodermus VDL Legodermus, gelding by Harley VDL.

Last but not least is VDL Legodermus. This fantastic horse was added late to the group of auction horses and so is not in the auction catalogue. We had to take VDL Lancome out last minute due to a light injury and so we had to decide that we had to take another horse. VDL Legodermus who became 7th in the final of the National Championships for 5-year-olds in The Netherlands is a star at the shows in The Netherlands and there was a lot of interest for him. We decided to take him to the WEF Sporthorse Auction, so we give not only the opportunity to the interested people that saw him at the shows at home, but given the opportunity also to our friends at WEF and to people that not have seen him show in The Netherlands yet.

We look very much forward to this year’s auction at WEF and we hope you will find your horse for the future in our auction as a lot of buyers did in the past 10 years!

The horses will be shown in a presentation next Tuesday February 22nd. The date of the Auction is March 3rd. Please contact Janko van de Lageweg 📞(0031-651815225 or (001) 832706-3407) for any questions about the horses and to schedule a trial from 23rd of February untill the date of the auction March 3rd.
