He has an amazingly athletic build and everything a modern jumping horse needs: scope, unconditional willingness, a formidable bascule and textbook ridability. He also has a well-balanced canter, a careful jump and perfect technique.  Over jumps he combines responsiveness and comfort with power and an energetic take-off. What more could you possibly want?

So Beautiful’s jumping qualities are no coincidence because his pedigree unites the genes of the performance horse producers Connor, Calido I and Acord II. His sire Connor was an international show jumping horse. According to his rider, “Connor is an exceptionally well-balanced horse, partly because of his compact build. What you really notice about him is his ‘electricity’, his suppleness and his carefulness over jumps.” So Beautiful shares these exact same qualities. Connor’s sire Casall is a top jumping horse sire and, in his day, he was one of the leading international show jumpers. His dam is full sister to Corrado I, the amazing grey stallion ridden by Bo Kristoffersen and Franke Sloothaak. Dam Waa I was sired by Calido I, one of the world’s most established jumping horse sires with several top international horses among his progeny. One of them is Coupe de Coeur, a horse that has won and been placed among the leaders in international Grand Prixs with Ludger Beerbaum, and came fifth at the European Championships with Hendrik von Eckermann. Acord II had an international show jumping career and is one of the most sought after jumping horse producers in recent breeding history. His progeny’s competition results have earned him the status of top jumping horse sire in the FN breeding index on several occasions.

So Beautiful has already proven his talent in the ring, and 40% of this five year old’s placings are wins in young horse competitions over tracks up to 1.20m with scores of up to 8.8.  He’s an odds on bet!
